The first step in the design process is to become acquainted and comfortable with ULRICH, INC. We invite you to schedule a consultation with a member of our award-winning design staff in our showroom. During this visit you will see representations of each of our product offerings featured in realistic room environments and view a portfolio of some of our recently installed projects. You and your designer will discuss the scope of your project, whether remodeling work or new construction is necessary to complete your project, and the time frame in which you anticipate your project to be completed.

Your designer will provide you with specific information about what the role of ULRICH, INC. will be and will also discuss specific products and services and what their potential usage in your project may be. There is no monetary cost involved in Phase I.
 


Design Consultation in your home

This phase consists of an in-depth discussion with your ULRICH, INC. designer in your home. This conference will allow the designer to fully understand your detailed design needs, allowing him/her to provide you with design ideas that realistically reflect you…your taste, likes, and dislikes.

This discussion is, perhaps, the most important time that you will spend with your designer, since it's from this consultation that your designer will discover the requirements of your lifestyle and routine. Much information will be reviewed at this time, giving your designer the "seeds" for a design that will reflect your taste and preferences.

At the conclusion of this discussion, your designer should be able to discern the design direction that your project should take, as well as be able to establish your project’s budget parameters.

The consultation fee for Phase II is $500.00, payable at the time of your in-home conference. This charge will be applied toward your contract that will bring us to Phase III. If for some reason you choose not to proceed beyond Phase II, the $500.00 paid thus far will compensate ULRICH, INC. for the time expended on your behalf.
 


Preparation of design and documentation

This step is the all-important design development stage. Your ULRICH, INC. designer will now implement the agreed-upon direction for design and create complete design documentation, including a scaled, detailed floorplan, elevation drawings, interpretive drawings, and specific project costing. The designer will invite you back to our showroom for a presentation and discussion of the design offered, as well as entertain any questions that you may have.

The project development fee for Phase III, based upon your designer's understanding of the size and complexity of your project, will be 5% of the median of the budget parameters which have already been set forth in Phase II. This fee will be fully applied toward your contract.

Upon your approval of the plans, drawings, and specifications, your designer will have you complete contractual documents with ULRICH, INC., including specification of all agreed-upon products and installation labor for the implementation of your project.

The contract will reflect your initial payments of the $500.00 design consultation fee and the percentage project development fee—they will be credited toward the overall contract amount. It will also list the payment schedule and the anticipated commencement and completion dates of your project.
